Baptism Preparation Ministry
This usually takes place a few weeks before the baptism. During this
three hour session further instruction on the meaning of baptism and the
responsibilities of parents and godparents will be discussed, and a
rehearsal of the service will take place.
When does baptism take place?
Baptisms take place during the church service. Usually infants are
baptized at the 9:15 am service. As baptisms are public celebrations of
the Church, they generally occur at times of great celebration in the Church
Year, such as All Saints Day in early November, The Baptism of Jesus
in early January, Easter Sunday, and on the festival
of St. John the Baptist in June.
Is there a fee for baptism?
There is no fee. Once a person becomes a member of the Anglican Church
of Canada, that person supports his/her parish with their time, talent
and financial resources.
