The Lay Assistant and Chalice Bearer MinistrySchedule for January - June 2012 The Lay Assistant and Chalice Bearer Ministry consists of dedicated lay people who have been trained in assisting with the worship service in the Anglican Church. The purpose of this ministry is to assist the priest during the service, to read the Gospel, and to help with the preparation of the altar and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Chalice Bearers and Lay Assistants
administer the chalice of wine during the celebration of the Eucharist, and
Lay Assistants are also called upon to participate
during special services, such as baptisms, funerals and weddings. If you would like further
