Mothers' Union

Mothers' Union is a Christian group and prayer is the foundation of all we do. We are members of the largest women's organization in the world - almost four million members.

We are always pleased to have new members. St. John's Branch Leader is Jean Gilraine, who is also the Diocesan Secretary.

There are four groups on the Island, and the Canadian President is from Vancouver.

Purpose: the strengthening and preservation of marriage and Christian family life.

Objectives: uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding; encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the church; maintain a world-wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service; promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children; help those who family life has met with adversity.

St. John's Mothers' Union meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the Pastoral Centre.
