Outreach
In response to God's love and generosity, the outreach committee keeps the needs and injustices in the world before the people of St. John's and encourages their response in specific ways locally, nationally and internationally.
Goals
The committee;
- provides recommendations on the distribution of outreach donations
- plans an outreach focus for the 5th. Sunday in those months with five Sundays
- supports individual members of the parish in their outreach activities (information list in Parish Hall which will be kept up-dated)
- provides information and opportunities for local response such as Food Bank, Community Kitchens, Rector's Discretionary Fund, GIFT Store etc.
- encourages support to developing countries e.g. through PWRDF, Anglican Appeal, Volunteers in Mission, Companion Diocese.
- encourages the identification of a minimum of 10% of parish income for missions beyond the parish.
Structure
The chairperson is appointed by the incumbent.
Committee members are drawn from volunteers within the congregation
