The Welcoming Committee
Let mutual love continue.
Do not neglect to show
hospitality to strangers,
for by doing that some have
entertained angels without knowing it...
(Hebrews 13: 1-2)
The mandate of the Welcoming Committee is:
- To recognize new faces at all services and to help people feel welcome
and comfortable.
- To distribute resources to assist newcomers participate
fully during the worship services.
- To orient newcomers to St. John's Church (after seeing that they have
attended for a few Sundays) by giving them a welcoming package of information
and inviting them to an upcoming orientation session.
- To host an orientation session 2-3 times a year to introduce new
parishioners to church staff, key leaders and programs.
- To ensure that welcoming brochures and envelopes are available to all
visitors in the pews of the church.
The Welcoming Committee meets on the first Friday of the month,
October — June.
