The Cemetery Committee
- records information, both historical and current, on burials and plot purchases. A Cemetery Master Chart is to be maintained on a continual basis.
- receives payment for the purchases of plots and cemetery services, issues receipts and transfers funds received to the parish treasurer.
- maintains a current schedule of fees approved by Provincial Legislation.
- responds to any inquiries regarding the cemetery and administers the current cemetery policy.
- ensures that the cemetery grounds and monuments are maintained in a reverent and satisfactory condition. This includes the development of such improvements as may be necessary to meet the cemetery policy objectives.
- recommends policy and/or procedure changes to the parish council and obtains the approval of the Directory of Cemeteries in Victoria, as required.
Structure
A Superintendent for the Cemetery is appointed by the Executive Committee and the Cemetery Committee includes the Superintendent, Incumbent)s), Church Wardens and up to two other Parish Members.
The operations of the cemetery is governed by provincial legislation and regulations. An annual report will be presented to the Congregation.
